2025 Building Services Engineer Apprentice Application - XYZ Practice Industries Ltd

I am writing to apply for the position of Building Services Engineer Apprentice at XYZ Practice Industries Ltd.

I am an A Level student currently studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry. In addition to this, I got the Gold Certificate last year in the Maths Olympiad which required deep focus and deductive problem solving skills.

I would like to work for XYZ Practice Industries Ltd because I would like to work for a company that cares about sustainability and the consequence of its operations on the planet. I know that your goal is to be net zero by 2029. Your commitment to this goal is important to me because I believe that reaching net zero is a crucial target for the construction industry. Furthermore, I read about your work on the English Metro. This interested me because last term I delivered a presentation to 20 people in Engineering Society on the topic of tramlines across the world.

Over the summer I completed work experience at a high speed rail bridge project. Some of my activities included surveying catchpits and analysing the difference between the required dimensions and measured dimensions; shadowing the principal engineer during a discussion with the contractor over defects; and taking charge in a task to organise level data on an Excel document. Learning Fusion 360 was a difficult task however through perseverance I went from never using it before to being able to create basic CAD drawings and analysing the main project drawings.

Completing my Duke of Edinburgh Silver recently allowed me to develop my communication and interpersonal skills as I had to work in a team to overcome the challenges of the expedition. Equally, volunteering as a football coach has taught me leadership qualities which will be useful for leading projects in the workplace.

I am eager to work for XYZ Practice Industries Ltd, a company which has planted trees at projects in over 140 different countries. My goal is to develop my career in a meaningful way and I believe I can achieve this through a degree apprenticeship with XYZ Practice Industries Ltd.
